Gattsu is what remains of a man who has lost all that he knows.
Raised in a ronin band, he refuses to speak on the circumstances of it, it is assumed that when the dark emperor took over the band was destroyed in the unrest.
His skin is marred with cuts and wounds, some appear more vicious than others, a distinct scar running across the brow of his nose, his right eye is wounded beyond recognition and kept closed at all times. He wields an oversized sword and practices with its hefty weight daily, neither his injuries or the hefty blade hinders his combat ability. In battle he is described as a man who fights beyond his ability to live, seeming to follow through with reckless abandon and narrowly avoiding death as he cleaves limbs with his weapon of choice. He is a large muscular man akin in size to some of the hardiest crab warriors, his hair is black and hewn short. He wears armor that has a makeshift sheath for his oversized blade, daisho in belt and a bandolier of throwing knives.
During the night he dreams and any who have kept his company know that this man lives with a haunted past. His dreams are visited by nightmares and regularly he will awake in angry cries of rage or sorrowful tears.
This man returned from the empire with Toku who has taken to teaching Gattsu of the better things in life. Gattsu is learning but his constant boughts of anger and the dark aura that hangs over him seems to be clouding his ability to be happy. Perhaps once he purges what ails him he can grow…
1: What clan does your character belong to?

Tutori’s Army, for now.

4: How would others describe your characters appearance?
Black-worn armor, short cropped black hair, a ruined eye with a scarred body of years of combat.
5: What is your character’s primary motivation?
Bring an end to the things that haunt him, protect the one he loves and try to find a way to fix this… to find a place where he belongs.
6: Who is the person your character trusts most in the world?
His sword… it is always stood by him.
7: What is your character’s greatest strength and weakness?
Gattsu’s greatest strength is his indomitable spirit.
8: What does your character think of Bushido?
Bushido is for those who need to validate themselves, we are warriors, bushido should be something that is done without thought.
9: What is your character’s opinion of his clan?
The Toku clan are his comrades and family, saved by a man with a smile who leads the clan, they are a minor clan, to him just like one of the many Otokodate he has taken a part in. He does not understand the meaning of clan, nor of having duty for another, he is starting to learn what it means to have a place, though it is foreign to him.
10: Is your character married?
No, but he is already dedicated to a woman.
11: Does your character have any prejudices?
He hates weakness, he hates the concept of fate or anything that defines that one has no control over destiny. He believes that those who cannot fight for what they believe in deserved to be crushed.
12: To whom does your character owe the most loyalty?
Loyalty is fleeting, he gives his loyalty to the moment.
13: What are your character’s favorite and least favorite things?

14: Does your character have any recurring mannerisms?
He routinely wakes up and practices with his sword, sometimes binding weights to the blade to improve the training. He takes this to a form of meditation, routinely disappearing for hours at a time as he trains in the woods.
15: What about your characters emotions?
He has an unhealthy amount of anger when hurt or harmed, but he tends to be collected and while he shows compassion if he senses that a warrior is weak his anger seems to creep into his mannerisms.

Depends, this is something to be handled on case by case. A beating is usually enough.

A failure and a cause for everything that went wrong in life. A child to be loved, a gift from the heavens for the lose of our own child.

To find a place that is truly his own.
19: How religious is your character?
Not at all, in fact monks and priests make him uncomfortable.
